Since the 15th of September, Arnold has been a starter only in the match against Villarreal, where he was substituted at the 52-minute mark. In the El Clasico, he made a token appearance, and he was absent from the Madrid Derby. In the past four games, he has been an alternate. Mourinho favors players with superior physical attributes, and Arnold is often on the field when the Portuguese coach deems the team's strength to be significantly superior. This season, he has been a starter just once away from home. Arnold has appeared in a total of seven matches this term, accumulating 344 minutes on the pitch. Digne has played in three more games than him, totaling nearly 600 minutes.
